A Brighter Future Begins with Learning: Empowering 301 Students at Zambudipa Monastic School

Education is the most powerful tool we can give a child, yet for many, the path to a classroom is blocked by financial hardship. At HAGL Myanmar, we believe that every child deserves a chance to learn, grow, and thrive, regardless of their background.
As part of our “We Care, We Share” initiative, we recently turned our focus toward the Zambudipa Monastic School in East Dagon Township. This dedicated institution provides free education to 301 underprivileged children, ranging from preschool to Grade 5, serving as a vital pillar of hope for the local community.

Equipping the Classroom for Success
Following a detailed needs assessment conducted by our team in early July, we identified critical gaps in the school’s infrastructure and learning materials. On July 15, 2025, “We Care, We Share” delivered a comprehensive set of supplies to transform the learning environment:
• Learning Furniture: 13 sturdy double-layer study desks to provide a comfortable space for students to focus.
• Curriculum Essentials: 85 sets of textbooks and 90 dozen handwriting books to ensure every grade level is fully prepared.
• Student Kits: Full stationery kits for all 301 students, removing the burden of school costs from their families.
• Creative & Visual Tools: Educational posters, maps, toys, and art books to foster curiosity and creativity.
• Classroom Operations: Whiteboards, ink, dusters, and cleaning supplies provided for every grade level to maintain a professional and hygienic learning space.
Supporting the Educators
A school is more than just books and desks; it is built on the dedication of its teachers. We were honored to provide direct support to the staff who make this education possible:
• Teacher Honorariums: A donation of 50,000 MMK each was provided to eight dedicated volunteer teachers as a gesture of gratitude for their service.
• Leadership Support: 500,000 MMK was presented to the school principal, Sayadaw Ven Pannajota, to assist with administrative needs.
• Spiritual Offering: In observance of the Lent season, we also offered a Holy Waso Robe to the Sayadaw.

Investment in Impact
The total contribution for this initiative amounted to 8,487,700 MMK. We believe that by providing these resources, we are not just giving supplies—we are unlocking a world of opportunity for 301 young minds.
“Quality education is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty. We are proud to support Zambudipa Monastic School in their mission to nurture the next generation of Myanmar’s leaders.”
