The word “Cancer” carries a weight that reaches far beyond the patient; it brings immense challenges that are physical, financial, and deeply emotional. In the quiet corners of the U Hla Tun Hospice (Cancer) Foundation in East Dagon, these challenges are met with profound dignity and care.
As part of our ongoing mission to support the most vulnerable, HAGL Myanmar’s “We Care, We Share” team visited the hospice on January 29th to stand in solidarity with those in their toughest moments.

Supporting a Sanctuary of Peace
The U Hla Tun Hospice Foundation provides a vital, peaceful sanctuary for Stage 4 cancer patients, offering palliative care that focuses on comfort, pain management, and quality of life. To support this incredible and selfless mission, our team provided a contribution focused on both the facility and its residents:
• Operational Support: We donated 3,000,000 MMK to the Foundation’s essential operations to help maintain the high standard of care provided to the patients.
• Direct Patient Aid: As a gesture of love and encouragement, we provided 100,000 MMK directly to each patient, aiming to offer a small measure of relief and support during their journey.

The Power of Awareness and Prevention
Beyond our financial contributions, “We Care, We Share” believes that the fight against cancer begins with knowledge. Understanding the risks—such as tobacco use, environmental factors, and diet—alongside recognizing early warning signs, is crucial for prevention and early intervention.
By promoting Cancer Awareness, we can empower our community to make healthier lifestyle choices and provide a more informed support system for those already affected by the disease.
Honoring Every Hero
As we approach World Cancer Day on February 4th, this visit serves as a tribute to the fighters, the survivors, and the selfless caregivers who provide comfort when it is needed most. We are deeply moved by the resilience of the patients at U Hla Tun Hospice and the dedication of the staff who walk beside them.
“True compassion is being present for the journey. Together, through awareness and action, we can make a difference in the lives of those navigating the complexities of cancer.”
